Publish-Triggered Content Refresh & Asset Generation Pipeline

Part of the AI Enterprise Blueprint: when a reviewed item is published in the CMS, the site refreshes itself, a cover image is generated from the content, and external channels sync on a schedule, with a human review gate before anything goes live and a scheduled safety net behind every automated step.

Workflow

PROCESS FLOW

From “The owner publishes an item in the CMS, or a scheduled run comes due” to result

  1. 1. Trigger

    Draft prepared

The owner, or an AI drafting assistant, prepares the content.

  2. 2. Action

    Automated checks

Required fields, diagram rules, and every number traced to the author's own notes.

  3. 3. Action

    Human review

The draft waits unpublished until the owner reviews it and presses Publish.

  4. 4. Action

    Signed publish events

The CMS notifies the site through signed, verified events.

  5. 5. Action

    Site refresh

Affected pages rebuild on their next visit, so the update is live in moments.

  6. 6. Action

    Asset generation

A cover image is generated from the item's content in the background, unless the owner uploaded one.

  7. 7. Output

    Scheduled sync and sweep

External channels sync on a schedule, and a sweep fills in anything an event missed.

PROCESS FLOW

From review to live

  1. 1. Input

    Draft + checks

  2. 2. Human

    Owner publishes

  3. 3. Trigger

    Signed events

  4. 4. Action

    Refresh + cover image

  5. 5. Action

    Scheduled sweep

    Fills anything missed

  6. 6. Output

    Live

Nothing goes live without a person pressing Publish; after that, refresh and asset generation run on their own, with a scheduled sweep behind them.

Problem

A content-driven platform goes stale if every update needs a developer, and it looks unfinished if new items appear without their images or if a missed event leaves work undone. Publishing should be one action by the owner, and everything that follows should happen on its own.

Architecture

Event-driven with a safety net: signed CMS events drive the refresh and asset steps immediately, and scheduled runs catch anything an event missed. Work that is too slow for an event's time limit is accepted at once and finished in the background. Idempotent by design: an asset is regenerated only when the content it was made from has changed, so the write-back from one step never triggers an endless loop, and an image the owner uploaded is never replaced. External sources plug in through adapters that normalise each source into one shape, with deterministic IDs so re-syncing never creates duplicates.

Input

A published CMS item, or a scheduled run.

Output

Refreshed pages, a generated cover image, and synced external content.

Integrations

Headless CMS (signed webhooks)Image generation APIVideo platform API (channel sync)Serverless scheduled jobs

Limitations

Generated images are not yet checked automatically for quality; the owner reviews them on the live page.

Security Notes

Every event and scheduled trigger is authenticated; service credentials live only in the hosting environment, never in code or content.

Learnings

Pair every event-driven step with a scheduled sweep, and make each step idempotent. That is what lets automation run unattended without silent gaps or loops.
